Lots of Visitors!

Welcome home, Siena! Besides trying to catch up on sleep (not a very successful endeavor), we welcomed visitors such as Nanna and Daddio, Grandma and Grandpa from Wisconsin, Meg's good friend JJ, and Auntie Putz from Colorado (in town for Daddio's 90th b-day party as well).

Meeting the Family

Siena was lucky enough to have her maternal grandparents and great-grandparents waiting in the hallway for her big debut. Winnie even baked cookies and delicious lemon bars for the nurses on staff. They were a HUGE hit, and we were treated like royalty at the hospital as a result!

October 25, 2008: Siena's Birth

We welcomed our beautiful baby girl Siena Anne Sustar at 10:57 am on October 25, 2008. She weighed in at 7 lbs 14 oz and was 21.5 inches long (though we later learned that the nurses may have been generous with her length). I'd been in labor since around 10 pm the previous night, and we arrived at the hospital at 5 am the next morning. The labor and birth were completely unmedicated, and I have my coach (Joey) and doula Julie to thank for their amazing support throughout the process. Everything went very smoothly and was a joyous experience from start to finish. We can't wait to do it again! Please enjoy these pictures of Siena's birthday.

Siena's New Blog!

Now that summer is here and I have a WEE bit more free time on my hands, I'm finally getting around to starting a family blog for Siena. It will hopefully be a fun way for friends and family to keep up with her latest photos, tricks, and overall cuteness. Plus, it's just a great way to record her milestones (because who has time for scrapbooking??). I'm going to try and do a quick review of her first 7 months before posting current news, so bear with me here..
