On to Washington State: Seattle and Lake Chelan
Our travels continued up in Washington State, where we first spent a few days in Seattle with Joe's sister Anne and her husband Walter. Siena's godparents, Joe's brother LJ and wife Emily, also happened to be in town -- double the fun! Siena had a great time playing ball with Anne in the kitchen and trying to get into Walter's expensive electronic equipment. :) On July 24th we drove to Lake Chelan, about 3 hours east of Seattle, for our friends Charlie and Brit's wedding. It was a GORGEOUS area with lots of orchards and hills... It felt like we were vacationing in Tuscany! We stayed an extra day in our B&B, relaxing and enjoying our "vacation from vacation."
Three Sustar siblings (and baby) on Queen Anne Hill overlooking downtown Seattle
We took a walk around Queen Anne Hill one evening, touring many (if not all!) of the neighborhood playgrounds. They were pretty much the coolest playgrounds you can imagine! Here Daddy is introducing Siena to the merry-go-round...
... and Aunt Emily takes her on a trip down the slide.
It happened that Joey's roommate from New York, Amanda, was in Seattle at the same time. We met up one morning on the ferry to Port Townsend -- great to see her!
At Lake Chelan, Siena helped us pick blueberries for Anne and Walter
Gorgeous views from the wedding site above Lake Chelan
With Tami and Quinn Suby, friends from Glenwood up for the wedding. Tami introduced me to the Ergo Baby carrier (featured in this photo). It's SO comfy, and I've found it to be much better on my back than the sling (especially now that Siena is a bit bigger than a newborn!). I also like that the Ergo Baby accomodates children up to 40 lbs or so -- Quinn is two and obviously fits just fine!
